7 3/4″ Keokuk Axe-Grooved on Both Sides, Flat on Top and Bottom- found in Van Buren County Iowa by Herbert Redhead 1924-2015 Herbert Kelland Redhead age 91, known as Kell, passed away on Apri 4, 2015. He was born in New York State on January 9, 1924 to Mildred Crowe and Herbert Henry Redhead. He resided in Des Moines, Iowa in the Redhead Mansion an historic landmark. His Great grandfather Wesley Redhead, known as Iowa’s Coal King, donated the land for the Iowa State Fair Grounds.
