Description
An exceptional pair of Chancay spindles from Peru, ca. 1100 – 1450 AD. They are 12-1/4” and 11” long and feature a delicately incised whorl. One decorated with birds and inlaid with white and red pigment, while the other has pyramid designs and rarely seen open workmanship. Each spindle also retains a good amount of the original ancient thread.
