Description
An excellent Jamacoaque head fragment from the Rio Santiago area of Ecuador, ca. 300 BC – 400 AD. It is 1-3/4” high and portrays a shaman transforming into his spirit animal, a jaguar. He is wearing an ornament studded mask and large fangs are visible in the open mouth. Choice example. Mounted on stand.
