Description
Views of Society and Manners in America; in a series of letters from that country to a friend in England, during the years 1818, 1819, and 1820. By an English woman. 2nd American edition by Frances Wright D’Arasmunt. 1st published the same year Frances Wright (1795-1852) visited both the United States and Canada. Later she sat up a colony, called Nashoba, for the rehabilitation of Negro slaves in Tennessee. This 200 year old book has a lot of age to it. Front cover comes off, the spine is nearly gone. Page edges are tattered but still intact. The fold out map is still in place. Fair condition. 483 pgs 9" by 5 3/4"
