Rare Oreodont Skull Fossil, South Dakota Badlands. Upper and Lower jaws with teeth. Great large Example. Hrder to find North American fossil, Western United States, South Dakota, Oglala Lakota County, Brule Formation, Oligocene to early Miocene, ca. 33.9 to 16.3 million years ago. A fossilized skull of Leptauchenia nitida, a type of oreodont, still embedded in its natural matrix, with the stone block serving as a stable display base.
