VERY RARE Zola’s Work’s Volume 1, 2, 3, and 4. The first 2 volumes are a collection of all of Emile Zola’s stories Published by Frank Tousy for The Riverside Library in the early 1880’s In a hardback cloth and leather. Volume 3 is Albine published by T. B. Peterson & Brothers 1880. Volume 4 is Germinal published by Belford Clark and Company 1885. I couldn’t find a copy of this compilation anywhere on the web. and I didn’t see a publication date for the volumes. Both Books are in good condition with a little corner wear, some foxing here and there and patina/fading as expected. Small tares or frays on some pages. Volume 1 has a signed portrait of Zolas on the inside. There are newspaper clippings related to Zolas on the first 2 pages of Volume 1 that were glued there in the early 1900’s with notes. The Volumes Contain 13 total The Brookside Library Journals which were written by Emile Zolas. These may be a one of a kind. Volumes 1 & 2 are both 11 1/2" by 9 3/4" Volume 3 is 6 1/2" by 5 1/8". 7 1/4" by 5 1/8"
